As Microsoft readies Windows 2008 for launch coupled with SQL server 2008 launch and the re-launch of Visual Studio 2008 ?? I am left feeling a little uneasy...
When Visual Studio 2008 hit the streets it quickly became apparent that it was incompatible with a number of other products not least BizTalk 2006 R2 on recently launched!!! It is now also clear that Microsoft aren't supporting BizTalk 2006 R2 on Windows Serve 2008 either and of course it goes without saying that BizTalk will not support SQL 2008 or is it SQL 2008 will not support BizTalk.
So with a sweep of arrogance all the good work done around BizTalk is swept aside. Do Microsoft expect customers to really wait until 'Oslo' graces the world???
I can understand non-Microsoft products having a bit of a hiccup but come on this is bread and butter stuff......at least if you are not going to make an effort in support today's products at least gives a service pack to fix the issue with the existing products.
So what is the outlook like for dev houses like ours - well we need multiple dev environments to support 'all in service' options - more expense and more chance of 'getting it wrong'
So Microsoft - Where have all the good thinkers gone - or weren't there any in the first place?
