It's fun working for an IT consultancy at the cutting edge of technology. I can spend my time with lots of 'new' toys. The problem comes when working with customers that for very good reason or running a long way behind the edge!
I have just recently completed a spell in such an environment at in some ways it has been a reality check of how most of the 'world' operates.
Simple stuff such as 'must work with the following ancient browsers' , no downloads to client (there goes Silverlight!) and such like.
Means you have to 'earn' your pay to deliver the best solutions rather than relying on the technology...
Very refreshing, but also quite challenging.....
