Outlook 2007 – Rendering Problem

Suppers Ready:

Fun and games with Outlook 2007. Life wouldn’t be half as much fun without betaware!!!

OK so installed it and started to use it but hit big problem – ‘Message could not be rendered’ – and blank message body. Sent of the error report but also decided to investigate….

  1. First lets look at the Outlook Plugins that have carried across from 2003
  2. Motorola sync - no issue
  3. AVG anti-virus – disabled – no change, wait new message OK old messages still blank?
  4. Send test message – renders OK
  5. Penny drops – running in Cached mode so refresh cache – all messages rendered

So we now wait for the AVG fix .

Word to the wise – while testing Outlook – turn off caching!!

I have the same problem.... this may sound daft but how do you refresh the cache? I tried unticking the cache button and Outlook would not connect to the server..

Interesting? I simply unchecked and re-connected no problem!

Just close outlook and delete your OST file, when you reopen Outlook it will recreateit and your messages will be fine, assuming you leave the AVG plugin disabled.
The ost file is usually located C:\Documents and Settings\"Profilename"\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

where profilename is your profile name
