So the nice man at the Apple WDC declares the 3.0 will be available on the 17th June…. What he failed to say is that it would be avaiable at 10 am on 17th June in the US PDT. So that shifts the time to 6pm in the UK And worse still 3 am on the 18th in Sidney, Australia What Apple did on the QT was then to add differing dates to the relevant Apple pages for each country. Unfortunately most people end up at Apple.com (US) long before they hit their own (for example Apple.com/UK) There we have it: OS ......

Yep, it’s true – Bill has banned all Apple products from chez Gates. I presume his kids will therefore be all Zuned up! Have heard though that Mrs Gates would rather like an iPhone but….

I bit the Jobs kinds aren’t banned from having Zunes or Windows Mobile phones! Simple, why would they want one!

I was just thinking about how far things have moved on in the last five years….and in thinking I got to examine my own home network…. So my home network serves a number of purposes: 1. Providing access to the internet for all it’s users: me, my wife and daughter when at home from Uni, my other daughter when she calls (iPhone usage). 2. My network joins my gaming experience to the outside world 3. My net work streams music around the house 4. and streams video around the house 5. Provides centralised ......

For many years savvy iTunes users have been setting up US iTunes accounts to not only get music, video and film at a reduced cost but also be able to get TV programs early. It has been one of the ‘legal’ ways of breaking the Sky monopoly. That has all been stopped as Apple decides to maximize revenue. Previously a US account could be had by setting up an iTunes account and selecting the ‘No’ card payment option. Of course a US address was required and the purchase of iTunes US gift certificates thro’ ......

I recently purchase an Airport Extreme to get the 'N' coverage my Home Hub doesn't provide. As I have BT Vision (works very, very well) I couldn't scrape my Home Hub. I have a number of computers that need to hang of this not least my XBOX 360 and PS3 (bluray player not games machine note) so I approached this with a little trepidation. My computers are a mixture of Wintel PC's and Laptops + 3 MAC's (note each also runs Vista). Advice from my friendly MAC shop was just to use the supplied Airport ......

Having moved away from an IPod to a Zune for my portable music source and having also discovered the joys of the Itunes US store for TV shows - downloading all the latest shows to my IPod for viewing I sort of hit a strange state of needing both. Now the interesting point here is that I live in the UK and yet I'm still able to download from the US store! (For info on that little trick go to Using US ITunes store in UK) The content I download is various TV shows - Lost, Heros, Jericho, 24 - and of ......

Apple on Thursday released a statement noting that Mac OS X v10.5 “Leopard” won’t be released until October. The cause of the delay? The iPhone. “iPhone has already passed several of its required certification tests and is on schedule to ship in late June as planned. We can’t wait until customers get their hands (and fingers) on it and experience what a revolutionary and magical product it is,” reads a statement published by the company. Getting the iPhone ready for its June launch has had an unintended ......

To Quote Engadget: Remember Hymn? You should, back in the day (like, um, 2004) it allowed you to strip the FairPlay DRM right off iTunes Music Store bought files just like that; well, it's been a long time in coming, but a new app called QTFairUse6 looks like it can now be used (with some amount of difficulty) to dump iTunes version 6.0.4 - 6.0.5 files of their chastely protection. It's not quite as slick as FairUse4WM or anything, but if you're not afraid to get your hands dirty with a little python ......
