Is the C# Party Over?

After a month of a busy schedule, I finally have time to go though my blog aggregator today. I noticed a few people in my feed mentioned this interesting article. If you have not read it yet, go read it. I think this guy is smoking something, but you can be the judge.

Gravatar I have to say he is smoking something. I read the entire article, 3 times, and I am still not sure he actually said anything other than: "Java did not stand still" and "C# and Visual Studio are being aggressively developed."

In particular this quote puzzles me: - "Many of the benefits that the Java platform delivered were not solved by moving to C#, the most significant difference being OS independence. While C# was in rapid release mode, the Java platform was able to fine-tune the language and at the same time invest heavily in stability and scalability."

The first point makes no sense to me, why would the benefits of Java be realized by moving to C# anyway?

The second point seems to say that Java development was focused on fine tuning, and .NET was in rapid release mode. Ok, it to was focused on stability and feature set. Whats wrong with that?
