Sun to buy MySql - Is this good news?

I'm not much of a MySql user but I certainly appreciate the popularity of the lightweight open source database.

Will Sun acquiring it kill it?  Will Sun acquiring it help?  How?

Sun wants to be buddies with the open-source crowd. Kind of like Apple wants the hipster crowd. Get those with political-like-passion on your side and you can go far.
