Charles Petzold will be presenting on WP7 in New York on October: Author news: Charles Petzold presenting on Windows Phone 7

Fluent Components sent me this link to their ProComponents for Windows Phone 7, and they look pretty cool.

Tim Heuer has a post up describing how the new themes came about, particularly one of them: Introducing JetPack–a new Silverlight 4 application theme... all 4 are available in Tim's post and in another below.

From SilverlightCream.com:
Convert a Silverlight Navigation Application to use MVVM using Cinch V2
Ben Wintringham is discussing an MVVM platform called Cinch V2 ... I've not heard of this, but it's by Sacha Barber, so I'm going to look it up. Ben has links to Sacha's posts.
New Extra Credit Samples for Phone
This is cool... the XNA Creators Club is calling Wednesday "Extra Credit" day and is pushing fun helpful material like the four samples today.
Create Games for Windows Phone 7
And oh man, if there weren't a gazillion other things to do... the XNA Creators Club has a "Create Games for Windows Phone 7" site up with lots of good stuff and this is where the "Extra Credit" Wednesday stuff is from... you're going to want to bookmark this page!
An Experiment In Caliburn Micro
Sony Arouje begins with a pre-defined set of requirements for his app, and then proceeds to use Caliburn.micro to satisfy them... source included.
Silverlight TV: Top 4 Questions from the WCF RIA Services Forum
Deepesh Mohnani joins John Papa in the latest Silverlight TV to discuss the biggest 4 questions in the forums dealing with WCF RIA services.
XNA from Silverlight on Windows Phone 7 – Saving Pictures
I like this post from Mike Ormond... since the emulator doesn't have pictures stored, he's checking at startup to see if it's in emulator mode and if so, cranks a few images into the Media Library with XNA and boom... it just works!
Silverlight 4 Application Themes
We got 4 new themes yesterday from Microsoft: JetPack, Accent Color, Windows 7 and Cosmopolitan... and we get the raw assets plus theme files for VS2010.
How to: Set up a Tile Schedule for Windows Phone
This is interesting from Microsoft... Run a tile updater that gets a new tile image on a pre-defined schedule
Windows Phone 7 and iPhone – Views and navigation
Jaana Metsamaa has a couple good WP7 posts on her new English blog. The latest is on comparing Views and Navigation between the iPhone and WP7.
Windows Phone 7 and iPhone – Multitasking
In what was actually the first of the series, Jaana Metsamaa discusses Multitasking on the iPhone and WP7.
Silverlight MessageBar V1.03
Todd Knudsen has some pretty cool things on his blog, with code... no write-up, but good demos. This one is a 'MessageBar' that comes into view on demand, nice and smooth...
Design-Time Friendly ViewModels with MEF
Here's a useful post from Jeremy Likness ... taking an existing app and converting it to use ViewModels and MEF, and eventually Design-time ViewModels plus external links... he'll post all the code after the presentation he's doing this for.

Stay in the 'Light!
