Default button semantics in Silverlight revisited
Patrick Cauldwell revisited his Default button code I blogged a couple days ago and has made it Prism-friendly. It depends upon some registering of controls, but hey, you own the code so why not!
Regions in Prism
Join Erik Mork, Bob Brumfield, David Hill, and Shawn Wildermuth as they discuss Prism and specifically regions. While you're on the site, check out Erik's other Prism videos.
Customizing Silverlight 3 DataGrid Headers
Dan Wahlin demonstrates SL3B's BasedOn feature by way of demonstrating custom DataGrid column headers ... something to put in your pocket, you'll be needing it.
Update: Displaying background activity in a Silverlight RIA application
David Poll revisited his Background Activity control after taking lots of email and feedback. He's got a working example up, and it looks great... get the control and the source!

Silverlight Cream for June 11, 2009 -- #611

Shoutouts:

Andy Beaulieu is the first guest on the Coding4Fun Show - Physics Helper ... check it out!

Shawn Wildermuth is holding forth at DevTeach and has his first set of material up: DevTeach Silverlight+MVVM=Easy Demo

If you missed the Reston Silverlight Firestarter, Andrew Duthie has posted the Silverlight Firestarter Deck and Links

I didn't notice this is Issue 611 and being posted on 6/11 until just now :) ... this was supposed to go out last night... interesting how circumstances happen, eh?

From SilverlightCream.com:
Controlling Projection in Silverlight 3
Gavin Wignall's latest post is about the Projection control in SL3B. I'm not sure what is going on but Gavin's page wants me to load what is apparently the version I already have. The code is all good though!
SilverBullet No. 2 – System.Json
Timmy Kokke has SilverBullet 2 up ... this one is a quick walk through System.Json and the JsonObject.
Silverlight Google Search API Source Code Sample
Robbe Morris used Silverlight 2 and referenced the Google Search API. He did use the JS instead of a REST solution, in case that changes your mind about reading the artile. This one is for you code lovers!
Silverlight Kit Webinars
Michael S. Sherotter posted links to recordings of 3 webinars on Silverlight Kits: MySpace, NYTimes, and Web 2.0 APIs... the last also includes a white paper.
Silverlight Attached Properties: Binding.UpdateSourceTrigger.PropertyChanged
Michael Sync is working in Silverlight 2 and gets around the fact that UpdateSourceTrigger is not supported by using an attached property. Michael does point out that you probably need to tailor it for your app, in other words "Mileage May Vary" :)
