Silverlight Cream for May 20, 2009 -- #597

In this Issue: Nigel Sampson, Jonathan van de Veen, Rod Paddock, Alex Knight, Arturo Toledo, Tim Heuer, Justin Angel, Lee, and David Anson.

Shoutouts:

There are probably more by now, but at last look, both Jesse Liberty and Alex Golesh had not only dowloaded and installed VS2010, but they're also building Silverlight apps out there... sweet!

From SilverlightCream.com:
Silverlight 3 Navigation and Google Analytics
Nigel Sampson pinged me on this post. I blew right past it two days in a row! Nigel has tackled Google Analytics with the new Silverlight Navigation to get more realistic visitor information.
Adventures while building a Silverlight Enterprise application part #11
Jonathan van de Veen reappears after some fun time off and some not fun time off to continue with now part 11 of his Silverlight Enterprise Application series. He lays out the concept for a control he's going to be building next for use in the project.
Silverlight Frankenstein
Rod Paddock challenged himself to use Silvelright to turn around a project and details out his experience for us. Can you say Silverlight, jQuery, JSON, and Isolated storage? Think 8 steps to get it all started ... great post Rod!
4 Useful Vector Tips for Great Designs
Alex Knight has another great tutorial up... or a set of tutorials on doing cool stuff with Expression Design.
Interactivity without code!
Arturo Toledo has an Expression Blend video up at Team.Silverlight.Net that really shows off Behaviors. A previous Behaviors post is probably a good idea and a link to that is on the post as well.
Silverlight Visual Studio helper files
Tim Heuer has provided a bunch of goodies he developed and uses into a .vsi file for us to download. Looks like a good list of goodies :)
Silverlight TreeView Advanced Scenarios (TreeViewExtended)
Justin Angel has a huge tutorial up on the TreeView, adding functionality and exposing a TreeViewExtended class to us. If you haven't read his previous TreeView post, he has a link for it. Lots of good example code and pictures and even a couple "hmmm... that didn't work" moments.
Flipping Items in Listbox
Lee has an interesting listbox items flip going on. I didn't dig through the code to see if I could flip it back, but if you can, it wasn't intuitive to me :) ... selecting another did flip the previous one... all in all pretty cool
Chart tweaking made easy [How to: Make four simple color/ToolTip changes with Silverlight/WPF Charting]
David Anson takes a quick swipe at tweaking the chart control... just enough to get your interest up and then has links out to Pete :)

Stay in the 'Light!
