If you missed yesterday's event at the Wells Fargo Center in downtown Phoenix, you missed a great event. Happy 2nd Birthday SilverlightCream! May 15th, 2007 I blogged the first SilverlightCream post. Yesterday afternoon I blogged number 593, so that's something like 296/year over both years which is almost 6 days a week! Looking back at May 15, 2008, it appears there were 274 SC posts the first year, making year number two 317 posts... which is just over 6 days a week... cool! May 18th Best of MIX Event in Phoenix
Don't get this confused with the Scott Guthrie event and then be mad at yourself for missing it! On May 18th there is a FREE half-day Best of MIX Event in downtown Phoenix. Did I mention it is FREE? Come out to see Tim Heuer present on Silverlight 3, Dan Wahlin on ASP.NET MVC 1.0 and Web Forms, and Rob Bagby on Windows Azure. These are all 3 great presenters and great topics. You were going to celebrate Victoria Day anyway, so come out for an afternoon with 3 Phoenix "Rockstars" and get warmed up ......

I'm now a Silverlight MVP!
As you know if you've been reading my blog for long, I've been writing software for a while. It seems I always gravitated to the user interface side although it took me a while to realize that. I visited my family in October of 2008 and my Mother's boyfriend asked what the 'payoff' was for writing software. He is a long-time woodworker and the payoff for him is holding something in his hands or seeing it put to use. My response to him was to ask about running an application an pushing 'buttons'. ......
