MIX09 Minus 1
MIX07 was the first national conference I ever attended, and I felt like that kid from the sticks in NYC looking up at the buildings.
MIX08 was just as cool and having some fore-knowledge, I was able to navigate my way around a bit better rather than spend all my time staring up at the buildings :)
Now here I am on the outer edge of MIX09 beginning, and I'm as excited about this as I was about MIX07. I can play dumb really well when asked direct questions, but if you're involved with Silverlight (and why are you reading this if you're not?), then stay tuned for MIX09!
I'll be heading down the highway tomorrow about 10:00 and if it wasn't that someone put Hoover Dam right in the middle of the road, I'd be there about 2:00pm. With the obstacle, it'll be 3:00 or later, but I'll be checking in tomorrow, and roaming around a bit to see who I can find :)
There's stuff going on all day every day, and double... even triple-bookings in the evenings. I'll be wearing TShirts with my web addresses on the back, so get my attention if we haven't met! I'll be blogging #MIX09 with everyone else, and email always works.
I'm supposed to have wireless at my 'no-tell motel', and if I do, I'll try to keep up the blog while I'm gone. An alternative will be the Blogger Lounge
TM but since I'm not staying at the Venetian, I'll need someone to walk me in.
I finally installed IE8 this weekend on both machines and love it. I find my desktop machine has become less of a development station and more of a test box... definitely looking forward to a drop of Windows 7 that I feel comfortable throwing on there!
One really cool thing this weekend was a blog post by
Karl Shifflett that appears to have solved my Visual Studio crashing problem. That also went on both machines... very timely Karl, thanks!
Unfortunately, the road from Phoenix to 'Vegas has a lot of cell dead zones, so I won't have much phone contact until I get close. I do have my Zune80 with
cartruck adapter, so it'll be me, Herb Ellis, Joe Pass, Howard Roberts, Kenny Burrell, and Jimmy Smith jamming out all the way.
See you all in 'Vegas!
