Silverlight Cream for February 27, 2009 -- #530

In this issue: Chris Cavanagh, David Anson, Walt Ritscher, and Kevin Dockx.

Note:

The next few days may be a little slow blogging. I'll be heading to Seattle tomorrow for the 2009 MVP Summit that runs Sunday through Wednesday. I just looked at my schedule and it's going to be a fun/busy time. I'm looking forward to seeing people I haven't seen in a year and in general being able to soak up all the goodness I can.

From SilverlightCream.com:
ElementRecycler for Silverlight and WPF
Chris Cavanagh has a clever idea for pulling some of the weight out of your applications. I was trying to think of how to use this until I saw his example and then it made sense :)
DesignerProperties.GetIsInDesignMode_ForRealz [How to: Reliably detect Silverlight design mode in Blend and Visual Studio]
David Anson responds to Bryant Likes' article yesterday and with his contacts (!), he was able to come up with some good code for resolving this whole VS/Blend issue... and thanks for the shoutout, David!
Quick Tip: Expression Blend - the Hand
Walt Ritscher has a cool hint for you for using the 'hand' in Blend and I'm not going to spoil it by even hinting at it :)
Silverlight Drag and Drop Manager released @ CodePlex
Kevin Dockx has a new CodePlex project up that is a Drag and Drop Manager for Silverlight. I didn't think I needed one until I saw Kevins :) ... great job!

Stay in the 'Light!
