In this issue: Matt Watson, Bryant Likes, Tim Heuer, Radenko Zec, Matthias Shapiro(2), Terence Tsang, Justing Angel, and Lee.
Shoutouts:
Shawn Wildermuth made the announcement that he will be Speaking at DevTeach in June ... way to go, Shawn ... there were lots of contenders for those speaking slots!
Joel Neubeck will be speaking in a breakout session at MIX09: Mix09 - Creating Web Applications on the Internet Explorer 8 Platform ... should be a good one, Joel!
The SilverlightShow guys sent me this and while it's not necessarily Silverlight, I'm thinking it would be of interest to many: ADO.NET Data Services Advanced Topics - Custom proxy based on T4 templates
From
SilverlightCream.com:
- Silverlight WCF Service Reference Usage Simplified
- Matt Watson sent me this yesterday and I forgot to include it. Check out how he resolves the "modify the URL" issue in the config file.
- Twilight 1.5: Multiple Views with MVVM
- Bryant Likes revisited his Twitter badge in MVVM ... check out the cool Views and View Models ... sort of puts it into perspective, and Bryant has lots of external links referenced.
- Testing Silverlight Applications
- Tim Heuer has a post up discussing unit testing and Silverlight. I think Roy Osherove started something when he released SilverUnit yesterday :)
- Silverlight chat application using WCF full duplex
- Radenko Zec lists lots of references he used along the way to the chat app he built using full duplex WCF... and of course, he lists the source as well.
- Adventures with JSON and Silverlight (and the New York Times)
- Matthias Shapiro references other work and then proceeds to dig into JSON with Silverlight ... all good info and nicely laid out for us. He then followed that up with a Tutorial on building the app in Blend: Using Silverlight to Display JSON Data (Collected From The New York Times API)
- Flash vs Silverlight: Custom Loading Splash Screen
- Terence Tsang takes off this time on the "loading" animation. We're seeing more of these, and how cool is that? Terence uses his site logo which is very cool... and good tips along with the code.
- Silverlight Unit Testing, RhinoMocks, Unity and Resharper
- Justin Angel gives us another of his very detailed blog postings. This one on the gamut of unit testing and Silverlight... awesome amount of material, Justin!
- Line Chart with Markers
- Lee responded to a forum query about Markers in a Line Chart. He has a demo screenshot and all the code... notice how he makes it look so simple ??
Stay in the 'Light!
