Silverlight Cream for January 13, 2009 -- #484

\In this issue: Boyan Mihaylov, Thiago Felix, Bart Czernicki, Daomon Payne, Nigel Sampson, Jeff Weber, Tim Heueer, Arturo Toledo, John Papa, and Jesse Liberty.

Shoutouts:

I've got posts queud up from Jonathan van de Veen, Anna Wrochna, and Andy Beaulieu, but either I screwed up loading things into Thumbtack this morning, or it needs a little more help because instead of retaining the original post locations, it retained the blog home. However, it might be me :) So... there WILL be a Cream 2 today.

Katrien De Graeve has an interesting post up: Do you know Visual Studio Gallery? All extensions, add-ins and products to enhance Visual Studio ... well I didn't know that, but I've got it aggregated now :)

From SilverlightCream.com:
Interaction between Silverlight and HTML
Boyan Mihaylov has a great tutorial up on all things DOM/Silverlight back and forth, forth and back oh wait, does that make sense :) ... good tutorial!
Silverlight Screencast - Amazon - Part 2
Thiago Felix sent this link to me about a screencast, but don't go unless you know Portuguese... but if you DO know Portuguese, this would be a good thing!
Silverlight 3 - What we Know So Far & What We Can Predict (Part 3 of 4)
Bart Czernicki had me for a second.. I blogged part 2 twice, so when I saw part 3, particularly since it's now 4 total, I had to go check myself ... get caught up on Bart's predictions!
Argentum Tela Design Surface[19]
Damon Payne had/has me a tad confused as well. When I saw number 19 come across I thought "dang ... he lapped me with two of them" but no... he's pulling a Mike Snow and as near as I can tell we skipped 18 ... good article nevertheless, lots of goodies being added to the app.
Silverlight Animation Part 2: Size
Nigel Sampson also played Stump the Band with me on his naming... I went looking to post Part 1 and 2, and it turns out I DID post Part 1, but it wasn't called Part 1 :) ... so now that I have that out of my system, go check out Part 2, animating height.
Enticing People To Download Silverlight So They Can Play My Game
Jeff Weber came up with a cool way to get folks to install Silverlight to play his game.
InitParams in Silverlight Live Streaming services
Tim Heuer discusses InitParams and how you can use them with SLS. Not sure I've seen this discussed before, thanks Tim!
ColourLovers.com now supports Microsoft Expression (WPF/Silverlight) Color Palettes!
Arturo Toledo was the first post I saw on this, and he has a Word doc tutorial to download explaining a lot of ColourLovers.com, which looks huge to me! Adam Kinney also has a post up about this: COLOURLovers offers palettes in Expression Design, WPF and Silverlight format.
Manipulating Service References in Silverlight 2
John Papa discusses service references and how to avoid having them point back at your dev box instead of the server you want it to.
Drag and Drop with Managed Code
I don't mean to put you at the back of the bus, Jesse, but these are in reverse order of scanning, so you're really in the first batch :) Jesse Liberty tackles Drag and Drop with Managed Code ... I need to look at that because I did Drag and Drop way too many times with JS back in the 1.0 days!

Stay in the 'Light!
