+1 for twilert

I'm not sure how long twilert has been alive, and can't remember where I saw it, but someone was tweeting about it the other night.

With twilert, you can set some search parameters, and get a daily email of any mention in the titterverse of those items. You probably wouldn't want to use a common word as a parameter unless you like scrolling through really long email, but if you're very specific, it works quite well.

Since I can't get to twitter during the day, I know I've missed some replies or queries to me, so I opened two queries:

  1. WynApse -- hey, it's a word I made up... only applies to me, so you can't get a lot more specific
  2. 'Silverlight' and 'Cream' -- and that one has been working good too.
This way I can at least see if someone posed something for me. I still miss out on all the good links that get passed around, but it is what it is.

I can think of lots of uses for this to track discussions about your software, your site, your blog, brand, band, ex-girlfriend, etc. :)

Thanks twilert!

It was probably Steve clatons blog. You might want to checkout www.twollo.com :)

While I haven't tried twilert, I have been using TweetBeep.com for some time and have found it quite helpful with keeping up on my particular focus area. Recently it has been plagued by twitter repeaters (sites that echo tweets from other sites and thus causing duplicates to clog the bandwidth). Does twilert filter the dupes out?
