Silverlight Cream for October 27, 2008 -- #408

In this issue: Walt Ritscher, Shawn Wildermuth, Dave Burke, Terence Tsang, and Gerard Leblanc.

In addition to all the festivities surrounding PDC2008, for those of use NOT at PDC2008, a twitter feed has opened of the name NotATPDC, a NotAtPDC website, and there are going to be sessions given ... this is very cool.... now we need something for people NOT At PDC and unable to be on Twitter... lol.

From SilverlightCream.com:
Shazzam Tool
Walt Ritscher announced this yesterday on Twitter as he was leaving for PDC. The tool is really for WPF, but the whole app is in Silverlight ... and it looks and works very nice! ... oh, I almost forgot, the code is all available :)
Cool...I am on .NET Rocks TV (DNR-TV)
Shawn Wildermuth is on .NET Rocks TV ... how cool is that? ... and he discusses databinding in Blend2 ... which is also cool.
Silverlight 2.0 Immersivity: End of Week Recap
Dave Burke wraps up his Immersion week with a recap and a bit more discussion. I'm keeping his blog on my list just in case he comes back... I'm thinking he will :)
Silverlight vs Flash: Throwing Object
Terence Tsang bypasses drag and drop for 'throw' ... interesting to play with.
Menus, part II : multi-level drop-down menu
Gerard Leblanc is back with his second menu installment. This time he tackles the 'standard' pull-down, pull-off menus. As someone that's done this, I can say the code isn't simple, but his just work... and it looks like a lot less effort than mine was! ... gotta look at that code :) ... great job, Gerard!

Stay in the 'Light!
