In this issue: Tim Heuer, Scott Morrison, Corey Schuman, and Jesse Liberty
A whole bunch of folks are updating their blogs and work to the latest bits. I'm going to give them links up here.
Karen Corby has a good Silverlight 2 has SHIPPED! post up with info about Expression blend and links.
Cameron Albert has updated his game code, Andy Beaulieu has been a busy boy and updated dang near everything :), Joel Neubeck reports that Zero Gravity is updated, Arturo Toledo has a general SL2 note and info about a Service Pack for Expression Blend and Expression Media.
Koen Zwikstra has updated Silverlight Spy and of course has added new functionality! The Expression Blend Team has their own message about Deep Zoom Composer being updated.
If you're having trouble keeping track of what to do, Shawn Wildermuth has a great article up on what all to get, where, and what order. He also reports Updating My Sites to Silverlight 2 RTW.
From
SilverlightCream.com:
- Calling secure (SSL) services from Silverlight 2
- Tim Heuer has a post up about calling secure services from non-secure ones... probably something we should all read!
- Silverlight and ADO.NET Data Service proxy generation
- Tim discusses how SL RTW has improved to allow you to stay inside VS to create proxy code.
- Silverlight 2 DataGrid is Released
- Scott Morrison is pulling a Mike Snow on me, dumping multiple things out at the same time :) ... and he obviously got me confused so I put the wrong synopsis on one of them. I can't get to SQL until I get to where I'm going, so it's going to have to stay for now. This first post discusses the release of the DataGrid for SL2 and has a great post about what all is there.
- Post Beta 2 Breaking Changes
- Scott also has a very nice list of breaking changes for B2 to RTW and I must have liked them enough I copied this synopsis to the DataGrid post :)
- Freezing Columns in the Silverlight DataGrid
- In the last post (for now) Scott discusses freezing columns in the datagrid ... seriously cool stuff for Silverlight!
- Implement the Video Slider control
- I missed this post by Corey Schuman the other day... he has now documented and discussed at length his Video Slider control... good stuff, Corey!
- Silverlight Controls – Look Nicer, Taste Great
- Jesse Liberty dumped a bunch of SL2 controls into Blend and has them on a post for our wonderment... they DO look great, Jesse!
Stay in the 'Light!
