In this issue: Tim Heuer, Silverlight SDK, Page Brooks, Mike Snow, Jesse Liberty, and Bill Reiss
Bill Reiss has updated his XNA games to the XNA 3.0 Beta, and has created a PDC badge: Find me at PDC for a Dr. Popper badge and maybe win a book.
From
SilverlightCream.com:
- Hey, who took my Chiron?
- Responding to a question, Tim Heuer discusses what happened to Chiron.exe in the RC0 delivery (and beyond, I suppose).
- Silverlight Breaking Changes Between Beta 2 and Release (Updated Document)
- The folks at Silverlight SDK have a good breaking changes doc out, and considering the hints I've been seeing on the web about when the RTW may hit, this might be something to check into!
- Sharing Code Between .NET and Silverlight Platforms
- Page Brooks Gives a good explanation of how to share code between platforms.
- Silverlight Tip of the Day #60 – How to load a XAML Control From a File or String
- In Mike Snow's latest offering, he's showing how to load XAML up using XamlReader, and tells you about the things you need to do if you plan on using this.
- Data Binding – Margin Notes
- Jesse Liberty has a collection of useful notes about DataBinding that you should probably at least skim through, or print out if this is all relatively new to you!
- Great freeware fonts for PathTextBlock and Silverlight
- If you're thinking about using Bill Reiss' PathTextBlock, or just a non-standard font in general in Silverlight, Bill has a great font site for you to check out. I'm familiar with grsites.com from my Paint Shop Pro days, and there are a TON of fonts out there!
Stay in the 'Light!
