Phoenix Silverlight User Group Meeting Review

I'd be lying if I said I was happy with last night's turn-out to hear Tim Heuer speak, but on the up-side, not one person left with any questions un-asked or un-answered!

Counting Simon Allardice that popped in late, there were 10-1/2 of us there, the 1/2 being one minor member :)

Tim talked and demonstrated RC0, and brought some VS2008 Pro copies to had out.

One of the things he talked about was the new controls: Password, ComboBox, and Progress. I thought I'd give a link to Mike Snow's Blog. He's been doing lots of great "Tips of the Day" lately, and in the last couple days, he's covered these three.

Tim also mentioned Shawn Burke's blog post about the Control team he's heading up, and the new controls they are going to be rolling out (according to Shawn).

For all the questions asked "where do I find information about", I go to Silverlight.net first, then in parallel, I go to Tim's Blog and Jesse Liberty. Alternatively, you can go to SilverlightCream and do a search for the material.

As for the User Group... Michael and I successfully retrieved the last bits of information necessary to transfer the domains and those are in the works as of 5:45 this morning. I'm still unsure as to what to put up... I'm hearing good things about both BlogEngine.net and Graffiti, so if you have an opinion, let me know!

Next month's meeting will feature Joel Neubeck talking about controls from the inside out so set your calendar for November 5.
