Silverlight Cream for October 01, 2008 - 2 -- #385

In this issue: Laurence Moroney, Corrina Barber, Adam Kinney, Matthias Shapiro, Terence Tsang, Chris Hay, Martin Grayson, and Pete Brown.

Martin Grayson reports that he has Blacklight updated for Silverlight 2 RC0... if you haven't checked this out yet... go there now, I'll still be here when you get back:)

From:

How to use Silverlight RC0 -- and some code updates for my Silverlight 2 book.

Laurence Morony has some words of wisdom about RC0 and some links to resources, and advertises some changes to his Silverlight 2 book.

Silverlight 2 Public Release Candidate is Available Now

If you just read the title on this post from Corrina Barber, you'll miss that she has her Red control skin updated and ready for use, with some extra bells and whistles available... very nice, Corrina!

In this post by Adam Kinney, and this one: by Pete Brown, a new Silverlight game, Quake-Lite has appeared on the interweb. Apparently they are blogging an in-progress game build, so it might be a fun blog to track!

Matthias Shapiro posted this one back in August -- I'm working my way backwords through his blog:) -- as a designer, he started tackling a C# book and is doing the examples in Silverlight and Blend of course (for him)... all good learning for the rest of us to watch!

Silverlight vs Flash: Mask Rotator

In Terence Tsang's latest offering, he's rotating images using a mask... cool stuff... particularly if you have a use for doing masking somewhere!

Flash vs Silverlight: 3D Image Navigation

An older post from Terence is this 3D Image Navigation... I'm having trouble with the mousewheel because it keeps wanting to move the page itself, but repeated mouse clicking bounces the images through very nicely.. and I like the spring effect also.

Converting to Silverlight 2 Beta 2 to Silverlight 2 RC0

Chris Hay has posted a couple quick 'gotchas' to keep you out of trouble in the world of RC0.

Stay in the 'Light!
