Silverlight Cream for September 16, 2008 -- #369

Martin Mihaylov continues with DataGrid, Rabeeh Abla with a Mesh Viewer, Gerard Leblanc on animations, Dan Wahlin on Input Controls, Jeff Wilcox on SL Unit Test, Michael S. Scherotter on high DPI issues, Terence Tsang with Flip Rotator, Sandy Place with Dynamic WCF Client Proxy, and Jeff Paries on SL/Twitter a new way.

Karl Shifflett has released an updated version of XAML Power Toys V2... this is of use to those WPFers and Silverlighters alike.

Page Brooks at SilverlightContrib has some information about the next release and is asking for input.

Adam Kinney posted about Desire is the Name, which amazingly was not blocked in here ... it's a cool DeepZoom Where's Waldo sort of thing with lots of inside jokes... check it out, because there will be posters at various conferences coming up.

From SilverlightCream.com:
The DataGrid Column types
Martin Mihaylov tackles the Column types of the DataGrid in the well-written style we've come to expect...
SilverLight 2.0 Mesh Viewer
Rabeeh Abla takes a shot at a mesh viewer, which should get all the CAD folks interested... and has a mesh library for anyone that would like to play with it.
Simultaneous and dynamic animations
Gerard Leblanc is back blogging and did a seriously cool double-simultaneous animation... when I first looked at it, it totally blew past me until I realized what I was seeing... very cool, Gerard! He said no code included, but there's a ton of code in the post :)
Silverlight 2 User Input Controls
Dan Wahlin has posted his Latest Articles Update, and this time I was only missing one on User Input Controls... thanks Dan!
Microsoft Silverlight unit test framework now on MSDN Code Gallery
Jeff Wilcox reports that the SL Unit Test framework is now on MSDN Code Gallery... no new bits yet, but get familiar with it, sounds like something soon!
Added High DPI Support to my Silverlight Photobucket Demonstration Application
Michael S. Scherotter reports a problem and solution he had after adding high DPI support... doesn't look like a big fix, but also looks important.
Flash vs Silverlight: Flip Rotator
Terence Tsang tackled a flip-rotator this time out. I'm not big on page or image transitions, but this works very smooth...
Transformation Matrix in Silverlight 2
Joel Neubeck discusses using the Transformation Matrix instead of the individual transforms... I have to admit... that makes my head hurt!
A Dynamic WCF Client Proxy in Silverlight
I'm used to seeing Doug Blackmore post at the WorkSight Blog, but this time Sandy Place has a great Silverlight WCF Client Proxy Generator... definitely something to download!
Getting Tweets from Twitter without the API
Jeff Paries is enjoying being free of writing for the moment and posted this cool article on collecting Tweets without using the Twitter API... I might actually make that one fly inside here...

Stay in the 'Light!
