Silverlight Cream for June 23, 2008 -- #307

Rob Houweling with a Sketch Application (2 parts), Martin Mihaylov continuing with Shapes, Karen Corby Parts and States 3 of 4, Scott Barnes with Event Dispatcher, Shawn Wildermuth with Relative URI's, Brad Abrams on Authentication, and Dave Relyea on Pixel Snapping as an Attached Behaviour.

From SilverlightCream.com:
Creating a sketch application in Silverlight - Part 1, Sketching on the InkPresenter
Rob Houweling submitted this sketching application using InkPresenter. Unfortunately, I can't see this from inside this facility, so I'll take Rob's word on it, based on previous posts :) He also submitted Creating a sketch application in Silverlight - Part 2, Saving the sketch on the server ... *somebody* was busy!
Using the Shape controls in Silverlight 2 Part 2
Martin Mihaylov Continues his Shapes investigation, this time focusing on the Polygon, Polyline, and Path. If you haven't tried these shapes, don't count a good tutorial out... it can get confusing!
Parts & States Model with VisualStateManager (Part 3 of 4)
I don't know about you... but hitting F5 on my keyboard isn't making Karen Corby's Parts & States Model blog posts arrive any faster :) ... but here's part 3... go for it... this IS the good stuff!
Silverlight: How to write your own EventDispatcher.
Scott Barnes took off on a tangent and came up with a great article on writing your own EventDispatcher. Not many folks have "BodilyFunction" events defined... I love it :)
Silverlight's XAML Relative URI's and "Site of Origin"
Shawn Wildermuth blogged the result of a big discussion that's been going on with the Insider's group, and on the Phoenix Silverlight User's group forum all at the same time... had me confused what I was reading :) ... definitely a post to pay attention to!
Using ASP.NET Authentication in a Web Service with Silverlight
Brad Abrams answers a question from a reader about qualifying a webservice return based upon the role of the caller... and has an example that actually makes this understandable :)
Using an Attached DependencyProperty to Implement Pixel Snapping as an Attached Behavior
Dave Relyea takes his pixel snapping code from a few posts ago and pounds it into the Attached Dependency Property paradigm... I tried reading some of this and it did a lot less for my headache than Excedrin does :) ... looks like I need to do more reading!

Stay in the 'Light!
