Silverlight Cream for June 13, 2008 -- #299

14 posts in the last 24 hours! -- Silverlight Girl with "Bumble Beegger", Piotr Puszkiewicz on solving the FF3 problem, Ivan Dragoev Animating ListBox items, Richard Griffin with more B1-> B2 goodness, David Anson with XPS Viewer B2, Jeff Paries with B2 Toys for Tweets, Lee with Drag/Drop Grid Rows, Florian Krüsch updated Triangle Control, Jeff Wilcox on UnitTest With SL2B2, Corey Schuman on NBC Olympics Viewer, and Dave Relyea on prettying up the Slider.
I've added a couple new finds as bloggers. James Bacon yesterday, Piotr Puszkiewicz and Silverlight Girl today.

From SilverlightCream.com:
Casual Game Bumble Beegger now for Silverlight 2 Beta 2
Yesterday when I posted about James Bacon's experiences going B1 to B2, I totally glossed over what app he was converting. I was looking at his site this morning and took the link, and realized there was more to that post... James has been assisting Silverlight Girl in getting a casual game up and running and it's available at Mashoo.com -- go figure I can GO to that site from here! -- Silverlight Girl has been blogging Silverlight 2 for a while and nobody's told me about her site, so I thought I's start out with her game... and I suck at it!
Make your Silverlight site ready for Firefox 3
This link came across the Silverlight.net rss feed and was a little weird since it's a post wholly-contained in the feed I guess. It has a little info about the upcoming FF release that "breaks" Silverlight and then it references Piotr Puszkiewicz's posts that follow...
Automatically Start Silverlight on Install - Part 1
Piotr Puszkiewicz has 3 really nice posts on his site about dealing with the install. I've got them here in the order they were written. This one first, followed by Determining if Silverlight is installed using Javascript , and then Automatically Start Silverlight on Install - Part 2 , all of which have ascending levels of goodness from JS out to the codebehind, and apparently following the recipe, he's resolving the FF issues as well... how cool is that??
Animating ListBox items - the VisualStateManager
Ivan Dragoev has a nice post on animating the ListBox items using VSM ... again, more VSM goodness :)
Upgrading from Silverlight Beta 1 to Beta 2
I got this link to Richard Griffin's blog via Tim Heuer. Richard has more than just B1 to B2 stuff on this post... so don't just walk past... take a look at it...
SimpleSilverlightXpsViewer sample updated for Silverlight 2 Beta 2!
David Anson has updated his XPS Viewer to Beta 2 ... that's what, 3 major fixes in 3 days... somebody has a lot more time than me :)
Toys for Tweets, Take (beta) 2…
Jeff Paries pinged me that he has his Twemes client upgraded to Beta 2, and details some issues he had along the way.
Drag & Drop DataGridRows
Lee posts about drag and drop with DataGridRows in B2 and talks about mouse issues... but I think there were a couple posts yesterday that may resolve that, if I remember right??
Updated Triangle Control for Silverlight 2 Beta 2
Florian Krüsch has updated his very cool Triangle Control to Beta 2 ... remember that from not that long ago?? ok... go look!
Silverlight unit test framework download for Silverlight 2 Beta 2
Jeff Wilcox talks about and delivers a UnitTest Framework for SL2B2.
NBC Olympics video player
And where has Corey Schuman been, you may ask... well I did when I saw he had new product up.... and dang... he's been working on the Olympic viewer... and there's videos up there to look at... very nice work...
DiscreteSlider - Adding Functionality with a Simple Control Subclass
Dave Relyea discusses putting discrete values into the slider rather than getting those big honking double values out like I've gotten on the project I'm working on... so this is most definitely a useful read!

Stay in the 'Light!
