Silverlight Cream for May 27, 2008 -- #285

Nikolay Raychev discusses the Hyperlink Control, Rob Bagby talks about Streaming, and Dave Relyea snaps objects to pixels.

A couple editorial comments first...

The great app that Michael Scherotter did and I blogged about last night actually had two links associated with it, and I only gave one. He has a second one associated with this that I want to point out: Ticking in Silverlight Clock + Source Code, or take the link to his Home page, look at them in series, and bookmark it!

Second, I had mentioned that Lars Godejord had done some texturemapping in SL2 ... he corrected me, and after I looked at his blog again more awake, I realized we had both blogged about the same article. The very cool TextureMapping article is here, and is by Martijn Croezen & Rob Houweling ... sorry for the mis-reference, Martijn and Rob!

I might point out for those interested in such things that Rob Bagby's entry in the SilverlightCream database is number 1024 :)

From SilverlightCream.com:
Using the HyperlinkButton control in Silverlight 2 Beta 1
Nokolay submitted this to me this morning, and is a short article with discussion about the Hyperlink Control, and issues with it. He ends with a puzzle of sorts and is asking for comments as to the problem... anybody?
Using Silverlight Streaming
My friend Rob Bagby is undertaking what appears to be a huge effort of reworking his blog, and while looking into Silverlight Streaming, he decided to give a very nice tutorial on getting started with it... maybe it's time for me to do so as well :)
Pixel Snapping - the Snapper Element
Dave Relyea exposes a pixel-placing issue with Rectangles in SL2, and has a UserControl that will 'snap' the Rectangles to non-aliased positions. I have to admit, this is one of the frustrations of being where I am, because I have experience with this, and want to try a couple things, but cannot from this facility ... grrr...

Stay in the 'Light!
