Silverlight Cream for May 22, 2008 -- #280

Wow.. 11 entries since about this time yesterday! - Denislav Savkov on sockets, Florian Krüsch on SL2 & Audio, Mario Meir-Huber's MVT Charts, Joel Neubeck with spherical collisions, Jeff Wilcox on storing clipboard info with SL2, Lee animating Listbox items, Pete Brown's part 2 of his Chat Client, Expression Blog on KeySpline Animation, Todd Miranda on re-using storyboards, Jesse Liberty's Intro to Blend part 3, and Daniel automating Markup in VS.

From SilverlightCream.com:
Sockets and their implementation in SL2 Beta 1 including a chat-like example
Denislav Savkov has a very well-done and well-linked-up article on SL2 sockets with a working example. To be honest, I haven't tried the example, because I was so impressed with all the resources he listed!
Building an audio synthesizer with Silverlight
Florian Krüsch sent me this yesterday, but I didn't get around to blogging about it. He takes a good hard look at what it would take to synthesize audio with Silverlight.
MVT Charts for Silverlight
Just as I was getting ready to post this blog post, I got email from Mario saying he had *just* released this set of charts... These are very nice looking and are released under the Microsoft Public License.
Spherical elastic and inelastic collisions in Silverlight
Joel Neubeck just can't leave well enough alone, apparently! ... He's back with interacting spheres, but this time, they aren't contained within a 'race', but freely interacting on a canvas, and there are three different types of interaction... very cool to watch, and source included :)
Storing text in the clipboard using Silverlight 2
Jeff Wilcox discusses IE, the Clipboard, and SL, and then takes it cross browser... and he's got code to back this up.
Collapsing items in listbox
I wasn't sure what to expect when I ran Lee's demo on this... but I like the effect a lot... very nice fade-to-gone deleting records.
Silverlight 2 Beta 1 Chat Application Part 2 of 2 - Main Page and Sockets
Pete continues with his Chat Application in preparation for a presentation, and we all reap the rewards of getting this material :)
Using the KeySpline Editor to Add Animation Easing
This is WPF and Blend, so may not directly apply, but it may, and hey, it's cool!
REUSE A STORYBOARD TO ANIMATE MULTIPLE ELEMENTS
Re-using Storyboards ... hmm... if you search, you'll find an article I did on that, but it was 1.0, and Todd Miranda has a video of it in SL2 on Silverlight.net
SILVERLIGHT 2 BETA 1 INTRO TO BLEND PART 3
This is the 3rd part of a video series Jesse Liberty is doing on SL2 and Blend ... good stuff... go download and watch it now... I'll still be waiting when you come back :)
Automating readable markup in ASP.NET, WPF, and Silverlight
This isn't exactly Silverlight either, but since we're all using Visual Studio for our xaml and code behind, Daniel has a Visual Studio add-in to help us with beautifying our code... very cool!

Stay in the 'Light!
