Keeping Up with Silverlight

Most of the people reading this will already know this invormation, I hope. For ones recently being converted to Silverlight, I'm thinking I may push out a post like this irregularly.

There are lots of ways to stay connected with the world of Silverlight. The most obvious is Silverlight.net -- this is the source for the control, the SDK, etc. plus how-to videos and tons of resources. The forums there are unbelievabley busy with folks asking and answering questions. I'm not sure when some of those guys either work or sleep because they seem to ALWAYS be there :)

It seems like every day I find, or am shown, another blogger doing Silverlight... so it's a daunting effort if you want to go it alone to try to find everyone. I've thought about producing a list of the ones I follow, but it moves around and changes, so it's always out of date.

I take my best shot at aggregating what I find into my SilverlightCream posts. Everything I blog about is also inserted into the database at SilverlightCream.com, and can then be ratted out later by searching there. Just a note about this search capability.... there is a 'blog' tag I use, so searching the SC database for 'blogs' will give you a big list of bloggers you can check out. If you're not there, I probably spaced it, so ping me!

When I insert something into SilverlightCream, it also gets posted on the SilverlightNews Twitter feed. Since I do database updates and SC posts at different times, if you follow SilverlightNews on Twitter, you'll get the info sooner. Another note about SilverlightNews... it's owned by Adam Kinney, so although I don't believe he's posted there, it's possible. So just picking up SilverlighCream might not be enough!

Adam also has SilverlightEvents at Twitter that lists coming events such as User Group meetings, Code Camps, etc.

If you want your event to go out on SilverlightEvents, the best way to get it there is to log into Upcoming at Yahoo, and subscribe to the Silverlight group, and then post your event. That way Adam will see it without having to dig it out of his email.

I'm sure there are Silverlight groups, communities, and lists that I'm not aware of, but I have some things listed in the footer on all my messages that may be of interest to you.

Bottom-line, there's a lot going on, you just need to find out where you want to plug into the information stream. If there's something important I missed, send me an email, and if you've blogged something I haven't seen, get my attention by submitting it at SilverlightCream.com... usually if I get a submission from someone, I'll start tracking their blog.

Most of all....

Stay in the 'Light!
