Silverlight Cream for April 20, 2008 -- #254

Ola Karlsson on SL/HTML, Michael Washington with a SL2 Toolbar, Pete Brown with a Chat Client, LeeOnTech on StoryBoards in DataTemplate, Robby Ingebretsen with SL2 Kaxaml, Cheryl (SilvelrightSDK) on the Popup Control, and Frank LaVigne on Cross Domain Proxy's and his Policy File Checker Utility.

From SilverlightCream.com:
Silverlight on top of HTML
Ola Karlsson sent me this one while I was at the Summit, and am finally getting to it. This is a nice step-by-step explanation of using SL over HTML. Not that we haven't done that, but this is SL2, and definitely worth a look!
Silverlight 2 Toolbar
I watched Michael Washington debugging this at the MVP Summit, and then Friday night he sent me the link... good job, Michael! This is the toolbar he had before updated to SL2, and taking advantage of SL2 in the process... all with source, and keep an eye on his site... he keeps thinking up stuff :)
Silverlight Chat Application for CMAP Code Camp
I saw this Chat app from Pete Brown actually on Wednesday afternoon at the MVP Summit and was showing it to a few people there. Since this is after CodeCamp, keep an eye out because code should be appearing soon... good stuff with the two clients conversing!
Storyboard and DataTemplate
LeeOnTech has all the code and some writeup on Storyboards inside a DataTemplate, definitely worth a test drive.
Kaxaml Support for Silverlight Available in Beta
Robby Ingebretsen posted an update to Kaxaml that supports SL2B1 ... you don't have Kaxaml? --- well go download it, then come back here! [Hi Robby :) ]
Playing with the Popup Control
Cheryl at the SilverlightSDK apparently is writing the docs to go with the SL controls and in the process is playing with the Popup Control, and has a very nice write-up (duh!) with code.
Update to My Silverlight Cross Domain Proxy Utility
Two articles by Frank LaVigne... this first one is an update to his Silverlight Cross Domain Proxy Utility taking care of a (sometimes) problem. -- oh, and Pete's giving up the source for this as well!
Silverlight Cross Domain Policy File Checker
In Frank's second, he has hosted a Silverlight Cross Domain Policy File Checker ... how cool is that? I put it as a link under "Silverlight Links" on my right-hand sidebar so I could just run it... thanks Frank!

Stay in the 'Light!

Thanks for the write-up Dave. A silverlight app is never complete until it's had a review by Dave Campbell :)
