Silverlight Cream Modifications April 3, 2008

It's been bugging me that with all the Silverlight that's been flying around, that I am only showing the last 10 entries on the main page. I do agree with Adam Kinney that I need a grid, but yikes... 740 entries and counting is going to be some grid!

I got to thinking since I have the date the entry was added into the database, why not just do a duration of 3 days, subtract it from today, and then pull all entries with DateAdded greater than that value...

So I did that, and then decided to put the date in the display record as well and then carried that date over to the search results page as well.

For now, those two items improve the data display I think... you can see when something was put into the database, and for the home page, you will see 3 days-worth of entries in decending order.

I like it :)

I'm always open to other options, so fire at will!

Stay in the 'Light!

What would be cool, would be to create a silverlight app to display the data with the following capabilities:

- Expand to fill browser width and height while leaving existing page elements visible and in place. (i.e. fill remaining space)
- Have cool master/detail kind of view
- Sortable on each column
- Filterable by tags or author

You could have your current view as an alternative for people that dont want to install the SL2 Beta. Who knows, I might even help build it :)
