April 2008 Entries
Last weekend, I decided to take time off from what I was supposed to be doing (shh... don't tell, ok?) ... and take a whack an an idea I have for extending one of the great Silverlight 2 control skins that Corrina Barber provided for us. Not to take anything away from her work, but I'd like to use it as a jumping-off point to produce something of my own, and one of my ideas is a small rotation off one of hers. So my idea was to: 1) Get something running, and 2) Make some modifications in Blend 2.5...

Here we are again cussing at Crystal Reports. Actually things between me and CR have been amazingly good for quite a while. I knew there was a problem coming though... I'm doing way too many weird things. I have to move these two web apps, and in doing so, they're moving to a bright, shiny, spanking new virtual server. Not sure what spanking has to do with new, but I'll let it pass. I figured there'd be some bumps in the road and of course the first one was that the new server had no clue what Crystal...

I'm sensitive to the fact that not everyone is an MVP. If you're reading this, and you aren't then go back and find some of my posts that talk about my travails. 3 years ago at this very time, I was out of work and having trouble finding work. Life has some funny twists, and today ends my first MVP Summit. Because I'm taking vacation time and paying my own flight, etc.. I'm leaving tonight and will get to Phx about 11:30, and be back on the 101 heading to work tomorrow morning at 7 :) This was an...

It's been bugging me that with all the Silverlight that's been flying around, that I am only showing the last 10 entries on the main page. I do agree with Adam Kinney that I need a grid, but yikes... 740 entries and counting is going to be some grid! I got to thinking since I have the date the entry was added into the database, why not just do a duration of 3 days, subtract it from today, and then pull all entries with DateAdded greater than that value... So I did that, and then decided to put the...
