Honestly, I had not heard about a Cross Domain Policy bug ... but I wonder how many people at the level I'm aware are really exercising that?? Shawn has a link out to Ian Griffiths site for an explanation.

I think cross-domain access could be a big deal - if you want to build mashups you need some sort of solution to this. That's why Flash invented the crossdomain.xml file in the first place. And it's why we have some grim hacks that let this work in the JavaScript space.

As for the bug - it's not that you have to be exercising this stuff to a particularly high level. It's just the luck of the draw: does the service you happen to want to use put semicolons in its URLs? Sadly, the one I had to use for an app I'm working on does put semicolons in its URLs, so I hit the bug.
