Silverlight Cream for March 15, 2008 -- #225

Karen Corby provides us 3 SL2 controls, Carlos Figueira details the cross-domain policy file, Jesse Liberty starts a great tutorial sequence on data in SL2, Shawn Wildermuth on a VS2008 SL2 crash and workaround plus a pointer to a DeepZoom MSLabs site, and Michael Schwarz discusses SL2 and Sockets.

From SilverlightCream.com, and I think I'm caught up finally!
Re-usable SL2 Controls
I blogged about Karen Corby's VlikrViewr last night, but the fact that she has 3 controls that we can use all zipped up ready for download at the bottom of the post... I wanted to blog separately. These are seriously cool, I mean look who is presenting them!
Enabling cross-domain calls for Silverlight apps on self-hosted web services
Great cross-domain policy file explanation for self-hosted services from Carlos Figueira
Tip of the Day Returns from Disney - Master Detail in Silverlight 2
Jesse's Back! ... home Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, and the gang won't miss him... we'll have to make up for that :) ... If you want to get into SL2 and data, this looks like a wonderful starting point!
Solution for Silverlight 2 Tools Crashing VS 2008
A week-old post from Shawn Wildermuth, but good info about a work-around to a VS2008 crash problem.
PhotoZoom - MSLabs Site using Seadragon and Silverlight 2
Want to see your photos in DeepZoom, but don't want to dork around with the tools? ... not sure we can use the resultant files yet, but give this a shot!
Silverlight Socket Comments
This is the resultant of a few posts by Michael Schwarz about SL2 sockets and good info if you're planning on using them.

Stay in the 'Light!
