I don't have this written up on the site yet, and after trying to navigate around from the office, maybe I don't have a complete solution but...
I spent most of the weekend putting ASP.NET Ajax into WynApse.com, adding a Web Service to my database, and replaced all the links on the right-hand sidebar of my MasterPage with the Silverlight 1.0 OutlookBar control I demo'd at Desert CodeCamp III about a month ago.
I'd certainly like to think I tested more than the main page, but you know how you can get tunneled in on a problem... and the main page certainly looks nice :)
The 'OutlookBar' is the same as the one from CodeCamp, just one minor change, and of course, the look is different. The data displayed is not only in Silverlight, but it is 'live' from the database. I added the link for the ".NET 3.5 Namespaces" to "Reference" about an hour ago, and it's there...
There appears to be a couple of problems, however:
Sometimes the menu doesn't load unless I do a refresh... not sure why that is... maybe it's a timing thing.
Sub pages are acting like the Silverlight.js file can't be found. That's one of those things you really can't test until you upload, but I don't understand why adding anything new would change how it's trying to find the file. I thought maybe it was just my installation here at work, so I uninstalled SL and reinstalled the latest 1.1 run-time and it's still a problem. Not ALL pages are problems, but it looks like anything that comes out of URLRewriting thinking there is a subfolder is having issues, although this wasn't an issue prior to these additions.
In retrospect, I should have loaded silverlight.js with the script manager, I'm wondering if that could be it... not much I can do about it from the office, but I can definitely think of all sorts of things to try for after I get home.
Meanwhile, that OutlookBar-style control in the right-hand sidebar is *very* cool... :)
