Silverlight 1.0 RC Re-Reinstall issues and how it got resolved -- more info
I've got this discussed in much closer detail in the Silverlight Forum, but the bottom line is that after working with the RC locally and on the web all weekend, after a reboot I had problems. The problems consisted of the fact that my system acted like I did not have the RC run-time installed even though I'd been using it since Friday night on that box. Reinstalling didn't resolve the issue and made it more confusing because it said it wouldn't install because I had a "newer" version on the machine... ......

Silverlight 1.0 Beta 1 to RC 1 Conversion Issues
Thankfully I didn't have a lot of issues, as I reported very early this morning. I did have a few pages that had problems that I did not want to deal with at 1:30 am, and after ratting out the changes necessary, I wrote up a page on it. I only have one other page that is manifesting a user experience different from what it did prior to RC 1, and I haven't checked into that yet. I thought these were enough fun to report :) You can find the write-up on my site at this link. Stay in the 'Light! Silverlight ......

Conversion to Silverlight 1.0 RC 1
Well, I was feeling pretty pleased with myself that the only 'Breaking Change' I had to deal with was Visibility "Collapsed". Of course I delayed making that change and was doing it early this morning to beat the release. Since I can't get to much from the office, I downloaded the control and things seemed to work fine, so I thought WooHoo... I dodged THAT bullet. But... that was NOT the case. Late this evening, I did the same magic here on my development machine, and then also downloaded the SDK ......

Assigning a Drive letter to a USB drive
Since this is something I've had to look up twice so far, I thought I'd blog it as much for myself as for anyone else that might be interested :) I have multiple logical drives defined on my system(s) using the DOS command Subst in a batch file that runs at startup. I just think better when I have drive X: instead of having to always point my editor or explorer window out to e:\dave\code\silverlight\Be...
