You know that 'food coma' you get in the middle of the afternoon when you eat a big lunch, and just wanna sleep? ... I think I have that from MIX07!
I'm just trying to assimilate sanity of what real life is after being inundated with knowledge and new info the last 3 days, and the 5-hour drive back to Phoenix didn't take the edge off it :)
I'm still struggling with installing Beta 1 on my laptop, and apparently the registry hives I sent to the team looked ok... so that means the uninstaller worked, so I'm not sure what the next step is there.
Since I haven't had a chance to even look at anything Beta 1 yet (much less Alpha with .NET and LINQ, oh my), I don't know for 100% sure, but I think my path going forward for my site is going to be:
Install Beta 1 on my devl box, and then start back with my oldest article, and get it running with Beta 1 by hand-rolling in the changes. After I do a couple of those, I hope I can modify the rest of them with database queries. I'm not sure I can shotgun it simply because I haven't worked with it yet.
Bottom-line, I'll wait to make the home page be Beta 1 until everything else is working. With 24 Silverlight pages, not counting the site bits itself, this isn't going to be an overnight thing, however... by the time I get them all converted, I should definitely know the difference!
Stay tuned, I'll get there!
Going along with the whole 'coma' title of this post, I pulled the trigger on this before I added a couple of links I wanted. Bryant Likes reminded me that I wanted to give a link to his site and particularly this post of his about the transition. He has some great info on there with problems and fixes he's found. You should also check out the link he referenced from Microsoft about making the transition.
Both of these are great starting places if you haven't done the February CTP->Beta1 transition yet
Thanks for the prompt, Bryant!
