The opinions expressed within are my own and should not be attributed to any other Individual, Company or the one I work for. I just happen to be a classic techie who is passionate about getting things to work as they should do (and are sometimes advertised and marketed as being able to?) and when I can I drop notes here to help others falling in to the same traps that I have fallen in to. If this has helped then please pass it on - if you feel that I have commented in error or disagree then please feel free to discuss with me either publically or privately? Cheers, Dave
Thin Clients, VDI and Linux integration from the front lines.... Raw and sometimes unedited notes based on my experiences with VMware, Thin Clients, Linux etc.

I did mention some while back that I'd heard that Orange were going to going to be offering a cut price Broadband due to the tie in with Wannado, but this almost sounds too good to be true?

Check out the details of Orange's offer

The main crunch being that you can get 8Mb if available, BUT you end up with a 2Mb cap/month

  • Customers taking the Promotion will be connected to the Standard User Wanadoo product capped at 2 GB per month, for £9.99 per month. You may increase your cap to the following
  • Actually, now that I start to look at this, this is pretty reasonable deal if you have an Exchange that's 8Mb capable because that's £9.99 for the basic and another £10 to be capped at 30Gb. So for £20/month for an 8Mb connection? If you don't exceed 6Gb too often then it's only £15/month

I don't know about everyone else, but what I'd really like is an Telecoms/Data offering where I can have one Comapny/ServiceProvider/Carrier that can give me a consolidated bill for all of my Mobile/Landline Calls/Line Rental as well as the ADSL AND the Sky+. I guess I should be careful what I wish for? Whoever can get that working will have probably made a complete bodge of the back end just to make it look good and get it to market......  and the customer service will be attrocious?  ;-)
