Topic: Employee Engagement
For many years, organizations studied employee satisfaction, believing that Happy Employees = Happy Customers = Improved Performance, Profits, and Shareholder Value. While there is some truth to this premise, research and business have proven that the model driving satisfaction surveys does not go far enough – satisfied employees are not necessarily productive and loyal employees. Engagement goes beyond employee satisfaction. Engaged employees are not only satisfied, but also take pride in their work and their companies, are more enthusiastic and productive, and stay longer. . It is engagement – not merely satisfaction – that drives company performance and ultimately its value (profits, stock price, ROI, etc.).
This presentation will discuss the importance of building engagement among employees, key factors in creating an engaging work environment, and the impact of engagement on key business outcomes, including employee retention, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Speaker: Anna Erickson, Ph.D.
Anna Erickson leads the Organizational Research Consulting team at Questar. Dr. Erickson works with organizations to understand business issues, design research programs, and recommend organizational solutions. She is especially skilled in helping organizations understand and leverage complex data to improve organizational performance.
Dr. Erickson holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Iowa State University; and a Bachelors Degree with majors in Psychology and Business Administration from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota.
