Currently they point to this blog so you might have to still tolerate the ads (I am looking into what I can do about that). but for starters they are FeeBurner Urls. The one disappointing thing about Halo for me was that I didn’t get the chance to get into the cockpit of a Pelican. To me the Pelican looks so cool, it almost shares the same design style from the drop ships in Starship Troopers. Yes those url shrinking sites, First there was tinyurl and now there's shrinkster. The logic behind them is pretty easy. In fact I created one at work just for the fun of it, actually named it gURL; pronounced girl and supposed to stand for Get URL. The interesting bit about it was creating a base 36 number system to count each url stored. The actual url could be stored in a database, but I used a hashtable with the base 36 number as the key and the url as value. The hashtable was serialized once ......
OK, yesterday somebody on weblogs.asp.net or gwb pointed out PGtGM. Whoever it was I am really thankfull. Sorry for not remembering who it was. I saw the link yesterday opened it up in the browser and went home. So today I have no clue who linked to it, and a too lazy to go through the gazillion feeds looking to see who pointed it out.
