Valve have released the 'The Lost Coast', a HDR Lighting Demo level for HalfLife 2. Along the progress of the game you do have 'narratives' which exposes you to various aspects of building the game, character modeling and the technology itself.

The best part is that this a free demo, however if you the requirements for HDR is very high. What is required is a processor speed greater than 2.8Ghz, more than 1GB Ram, and a Direct X 9 Card, which means I don't get to see all those cool bloom effects.

hmm guess its close to upgrade time again, problem is its soo hard to find decent hardware here in Sri Lanka without having pay 3times over the expected price.

Bit-tech does have a review of Lost Coast showing cool screenies of the HDR technology.

In other news XBOX owners might be pleased to know that HL2 for the XBOX has gone gold.
