NVidia for your Mobile?
The link to this Video was on Digg today (I think I am fast becoming a Digg junky these days, curse you Kevin Rose!! - JK) Anyways here is the video. Its Nvidias application to the Mobile phone industry. I foresee that this would be where GPU's would go in the future. However a given fact is that the number 1 power drain on PCs today is the Graphics card, and this wouldn't change on the mobile arena. In fact it does get more demanding, so having a fancy GPU on your mobile phone, would or may result ......

Rehab for Gamers?
I first heard about this on Tim Absath's blog (yeah hes the super duper cartoonist behind Ctrl+Alt+Del). He does give a pretty accurate run down on video game addiction if you might call it that. Then again it was on Lockergnome, no sorry Real TechNews. Technorati : Gaming ......

Customizing the Pod
So sometime back I got myself an Ipod Video – Special offer on Amazon (I think it still on, the 30GB one goes for 260+). So now that I’ve got it, its time to customize the Pod (thats what I am calling it). Ordered myself an Iskin – http://www.iskin.com/eVo3ga... PixPo - cool P2P photo sharing software
Found this cool Photo-sharing software today. Its called PixPo and its free. and if that isn't saying much its pretty cool for sharing as well. You can share your albums over P2P or via email. Their site is http://www.pixpo.com/ and they have a version of the software for video sharing as well. The downside of this product is that it isnt a really good photo organizer, but its good for sharing. From the products perspective it would have been great if they had the option to publish photos as well. ......

VLC Player

I know I havent been blogging much. Trying to get settled in over here and theres work to add on top of that.

Anyways a colleague of mine showed me this Media player which as he claims can play damaged VCDs, which to me is a great thing. Every so often I have come across a damaged VCD from the video rental home and had to be dissapointed.

VLC can also play dvd/vcd images.

SharePoint v.NEXT Features
Our friendly SharePoint “Microsoftie” Mike Fitz has dropped us a big one. He has a post listing out some of the features of V.Next. Just looking at the ‘listed features’ which I believe isn't all of them, theres only one thought on my mind; i.e. “Woah!!!! Thats awesome, ME WANT NOW!” RSS. Everything about sites, lists, libraries, etc., can be syndicated via RSS automatically. Blogs and Wikis. Templates and features in the box. Content Types. These aren’t ......

Windows Server 2003 Black Logon Screen
Faced a dilemna with a SharePoint box recently. This SharePoint box had been running for over 4 months, and had over 500 users using it daily. Its not a dedicated server box, but more of a PC that runs as a server. Its local HDD capacity is 40 Gigs split up into 2 20GB Partitions. Most you might think that is OK (I innittially thought - what the heck, its just WSS hosting 1 site). But remember 500+ users on a daily basis. IIS Logging was turned on (default settings + few other properties for a usage ......

Sonar demo on CrossFader.com
Recently Scott pointed to CrossFader.com which is built on Community Server. If hop on to that site, you'll see a video of Paul Miller (aka DJ Spooky) giving us a neat demo of how he is using Sonar to mix tracks. Pretty cool if you are into the SW editing/mixing/dj ing scene. Me, in my free time I sometimes play around with Traktor DJ Studio. The music editing scene is just beyond my capabilities ......

Electronic Arts Buys a Piece of Ubisoft
From Lockergnome Electronic Arts Buys Stake in a Rival Game Maker in France Electronic Arts, a maker of video games, said yesterday that it bought 19.9 percent of a French competitor, Ubisoft Entertainment, the maker of games based on Tom Clancy novels. Wow, never expected that. I just hope they dont mix up the games, Imagine Chavez Ding driving a 'tuned' Hummer H2, and taking on the streets of NFS Underground 2 with Sam Fisher in hot pursuit in a Skyline GTR ......
