Though I live in Raleigh, NC currently, I grew up in South Florida, Hollywood to be exact. Yes, that makes me a yankee (a northerner). How can I be a yankee when I grew up so far south? Simple, a large portion of the non-hispanic South Florida population has moved there from the north, including my parents who moved there in 1968, but I digress.
