It's been a busy time, but life rolls on.
Gave up on the LINQ code, just could not get it to work from within VS2005 Beta, but am going to try again now I've got the RTM.
Uninstalled VS2005B2, and Installed VS2005. No errors during install, but have already found 1 problem. The snippits do not work, and I can't seem to find the
Snippits manager. It's not were the documentation says it should be. Life. One of these days I need to reformat my laptop. Or get my desktop working.
The odd thing is that something very similar happen when I moved between versions (Betas, CTP, something) back last summer. I was just lucky that it happened
just before I went to TechEd, and I managed to collar one of the Microsoft guys there to fix it. From what I remember it was a registry key which had not
been setup correctly.
One of the things I've been busy with recently is taking beta exams. Good points: you get more time, and they cost nothing. Bad points: More questions
(including some of questionable quality), you don't know if you've passed for a couple of months and it's a bit harder to revise for them since there's no
books out. 3 down, 8 to go.
Just returned from America where I (and some others) were involved with one of the exams. It was interesting to see how much of the exams are contracted out
to external people. Seattle was a interesting place to have a day off in; had a great fish lunch. Don't think I've seen crab legs that large before.
Got a copy of Office12, which I've got to try out. Now I just need to find a sacaficial machine. I'm even tempted to put it on my laptop, but am a bit worried
about the warning regarding file format compatabilities between the beta and the final version.
Sparkle is out, so must get hold of that as well.
So much seems to be happening., a year of betas/alphas and CTPs. Roll on
