This is what Sony and Microsoft think we want: * Super Horsepower * Super Graphics * Fancy design * Ability to play a lot of media types, basically turning this "gaming" console into an all-in-one entertainment machine* pricing near that of a good computer (well we don't want this) This is what Nintendo thinks we want: * Innovating gameplay * simple, but good design * Very good graphics * New gaming concepts, such as their new controller * a "fair" price $400-$500 for a gaming console in insane....
The clean install of Metaframe Presentation Server 4.0 and SQL Server 2005 went just fine. Took about 2 hours and there weren't any show-stoppers. Time will tell if MPS is stable with SQL 2005, but so far so good. We have a small user base that is actively using the system with the upgrade. In other news, a nice lightning bolt fried my secondary TV, Playstation2 and wireless router. Guess I should invest in some more surge protectors. I had surge protecters on the important things like the computers...
I successfully got Citrix Metaframe Presentation Server 4.0 running with Sql Server 2005. I changed an existing install of Citrix to the new sql server with a copy of the Citrix database. I'm going to try today or tomorrow running the citrix install and pointing to sql 2005. Currently I haven't seen any problems. I've got a profiler running and I'm watching it all and everything looks ok. All I had to change was the MF20.dsn data source name to the new server and I had to copy the Citrix database....
