Hi everyone,

I've been talking with Microsoft regarding the Entity Framework and they desperately need your feedback. One of the features with the .NET Entity Framework 4.0 is the ability to generate/create an Entity Data Model using Code Only. Code Only allos you to use the Entity Framework, using plain old CLR objects (POCO) entities and without an ECMS file.

According to Microsoft, they need to get a lot of feedback on it before they can consider putting it into the product. If you are a fan of the code-first approach, please download VS 2010 and please play with the Code First feature.

You can get VS 2010 from here:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/dd819232.aspx

YOu'll also need the Feature Community Technology Preview available here:

http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=7fd7164e-9e73-43f7-90ab-5b2bf2577ac9

Please download and provide feedback to Microsoft!

Feedback

# re: Generate an EDM using Code Only - Need Feedback 7/28/2009 4:32 AM Liviu
Microsoft should not wait for feedback. The feature MUST be in the product. It is a shame that MS does not want to make EF at least comparable to NHibernat (I do not hope to see better).
