I saw this post from Andreas Kraus and he explained how to use c# ( asp.net 2.0 ) to send email with Gmail::

Here is the code:

// Smtp configuration
SmtpClient smtp = new SmtpClient();
smtp.Host = “smtp.gmail.com”;

smtp.Credentials = new System.Net.NetworkCredential(”xx”, “xx”);
smtp.EnableSsl = true;

Hi Sal,

Nice blog.. I've been using gmail in my ASP.NET web apps for a while now, it really replaces the need for a host server.
