10 meg broadband from NTL

Monday, August 08, 2005 2:09 PM

According to the Register, here, my ISP is going to start offering 10 meg broadband.

Now I'm shocked because usually they are a bit behind and a bit more expensive. So, why do I use them? Well shockingly I live in an ADSL black-spot, yes there are still a few left, so NTL is all I can get, or it's dial-up or NTL and being a true Geek I just can't bring myself to use dial-up again.

I'm not sure if I like the model, were you pay for the amount of data you download is really what I want. I like the unlimited download model and I think I would pay extra to keep it, but most ISP seem to really like the pay-as-you-go model because they can make more cash. Hmmm, I think I had better move.

Hmmm, sounds to me like you have no where near 10 megs! ... not even 2!

you may have a 10meg link but you also have to take in to consideration on where your downloding from as must people cap off to stop ther bandwidth being jammed. 11/28/2005 11:00 AM | Fred Chips

... and the point of thinking you have a 10 meg link and not actually having one is ?

Just when you think NTL are sorting themselves out they go and fluff it. 11/28/2005 11:45 AM | Dave Oliver
