ASP.NET 1.1 to 2.0 Conversion

While I was in Las Vegas attending DevConnections I sat in on a session for the Conversion Tool that Microsoft created to upgrade ASP.NET projects.

Michael Bundschuh (Program Manager for Microsoft) did an excellent job discussing the protential problems the tool finds and the fixes it applies to the project. Needless to say he was extremely informative and did an excellent job of showing off the conversion utility.

While surfing my second favorite site (MSDN), I found that he has published an article covering the same stuff as in the session. You can find the article here.

I am converting an asp.net application from 1.1 to 2.0. Everything works ok except one issue. We use a cascading style sheet for styles and the Textboxes on my aspx page use a class on the style sheet. When the form loads my textboxes display colors. But as soon as I submit the form then the colors are not loaded anymore. But the data that I submitted has been inserted/updated. Any ideas? I am using some ascx - controls on some of my forms. Why is the color information that is set gone only in 2.0 version and not in 1.1?

There is quite a bit of info out there now about people that have done the conversion. On in particular I found has a couple of good references that will be useful to you while you are doing the conversion. Check out http://codebetter.com/blogs/brendan.tompkins/archive/2005/11/14/134605.aspx.
