The desktop:

Yes its Windows 7 running inside Internet Explorer 8 under Windows 7 :P Did not find a better way to express. And yes clock gadget is also home made.

I’ll be converting this application to Silverlight 3.0 with Offline Execution support and host on Silverlight Streaming tomorrow. What? Ofcourse I’ll be sharing the code with my next post tomorrow.

So Stay tuned to play with Windows 7 :P.

Best Regards,

@Adil Mughal

I cannot take the credit on a thing on which Microsoft's designers worked hard :). Actually we just copied what they did.

Yes, I'll continue writing about Silverlight 3 in coming weeks.

@Mohamed Gama El-Din
Really? I'm not an author and I really don't think that its cool but I resepect you complements :)

Windows? where are windows shown in this app? Not demonstrating windows is too bad

# re: Windows 7’s Desktop Simulation in Silverlight! 9/12/2009 12:27 PM RizwanSharp
@Martin
Article title is Windows 7's Desktop Simulation not the Windows 7 in Silverlight. And doing windowing stuff is not that hard and many people had already done... there are a lot of open source frameworks on web which already support that functionality.

Thanks,
Rizwan

HI Zeeshan,

Have you gone to http://geekswithblogs.net/RizwanSharp/archive/2009/03/29/finally-windows-7-desktop-simulation-is-live.aspx ?

It should automatically prompt you to install Silverlight and then you should be able to use the simulator.

Thanks & Best Regards,
Rizwan
