If you install Windows 7 new and later install Visual Studio 2008, you might get an error during installation. Reason for this error was that Windows 7 and updates installed Silverlight 3 previous to the VS2008 installation. Deinstal Silverlight 3 from Control Panel and VS 2008 will install just fine. I hope that helps!

Some third party add-ons can cause a miserable performance running Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7. On my machine the Java Plug-In SSV helper caused a delay of several seconds before a web page was displayed. I disabled the add-on and everything was again speedy and smooth. If you experience a slow performance of IE8 disable one add-on after another to find out which add-on makes your day miserable (in the menubar select: tools-manage add-ons). I wonder if Microsoft can integrate a function checking ......

Yeah! I won a Community prize for February 2009! The Notification I received: Dear Rainer Habermann, You won 5th Prize in the February 2009 Contest. As you may know, a lot of people competed, but only a few won. Nicely done! Please also keep in mind that your prize is not just a stupid, geeky gift, but it's also a symbol to represent your contributions to the development community. When folks ask you how you won, you can tell them that it was by helping out other geeks. Be proud and brag ......
I am testing Windows 7 Beta since almost 6 weeks now. Granted, I was not a fan of Vista since it was to slow and the file explorer was a mess. Windows 7, still a beta version with debug code, is so refreshing fast, offers a better file handling and the processing times for almost everything are amazing fast. IE8 is doing very well and highly compatible! I am looking so forward to the final version. Great Job Microsoft Teams!
The right data structures can shorten development times to a high degree.
I started to prepare a presentation for this topic.
I just scheduled the March ArcSig Microsoft Ft. Lauderdale meeting.
Speaker: Jason Milgram
Topic : Building a message-oriented cloud middleware service with WCF

Jeff, Dave, and I, talked in December 2008 about the idea to setup a session for the ArcSig meeting, solving actual architecture problems brought up by group members. In dire need for a title, I called it "iPimp your Architecture", what caused some discussion, but we got a few good ideas for different names from the participants. I created some documentation about architecture problems with a CRM Telephony application, just for the case that no user had architecture problems. Right! Dave has a great ......
Since the Microsoft meeting room was blocked, we met for an informal meeting at the local "Owl", well known for tacky chicken wings and other delights. We had a good conversation about some application problems and issues, making them a subtopic for the next meeting.
