ArcSig Meeting 04/20/2010 with Sam Abraham

Sam Abraham gave a great presentation, “MVC2 – Do it your way in VS 2010”, at our monthly ArcSig meeting on 04/20/2010 at Global Response. The interest in Sam’s talk was immense, we almost run out of seats. The audience got an in-depth view and walkthrough of the Model View Controller functionality in Visual Studio 2010 with detailed code examples. Sam answered many user questions about practical applications in MVC. Free soft drinks and pizza kept the participants energized during the whole presentation and a raffle of books and software completed this meeting, with a preview about the upcoming meetings and events in May and June.

Thank you to Sam for the exciting presentation, and to the Shooster family for hosting us this month at Global Response!

“Full House” at the ArcSig Ft. Lauderdale March meeting at the Microsoft Office! After all participants had the opportunity to get free pizza and soft drinks, Quent Herschelman, Developer Solution Specialist at Microsoft, gave an excellent presentation about Architecture Tools in Visual Studio 2010. He started with a brief introduction to the new MSDN subscriptions, the different versions of Visual Studio, and the full circle of application and solution integration for the new Team Foundation Server. I like the new structure of the MSDN subscriptions and the new options the Team Foundation Server offers! Quent continued his presentation with excellent information and demos of the Architecture Tools, focusing on Architecture Explorer and UML.

INTERTECH donated a trainings certificate for $2495 for the first price and a Barnes & Noble Gift card in the amount of $50 for the second price to our monthly raffle! Congratulations to the two winners! Microsoft donated books, t-shirts and great info material for MSDN and Visual Studio 2010, as well as the pizza and soft drinks! Thank you very much to Quent Herschelman for the excellent presentation, to Intertech for the prizes, and to Microsoft for the hosting and food!

ArcSig Meeting for the local Speaker Idol Session

On January 16, 2010, the ArcSig User group met at Global Response for the local Speaker Ideal competition. Alex Koval won the competition with an excellent presentation making the case for Microsoft Azure, and is now competing in the second round at the South Florida Code Camp on 02/27/2010.

Great Job Alex! It was fun! Thanks to the Shooster family for hosting us and to Jeff for Pizza and soft drinks!
