If you install Windows 7 new and later install Visual Studio 2008, you might get an error during installation. Reason for this error was that Windows 7 and updates installed Silverlight 3 previous to the VS2008 installation. Deinstal Silverlight 3 from Control Panel and VS 2008 will install just fine.
